Outstanding Digital Tool in Education Award – Kwame AI

Kwame AI won the Outstanding Digital Tool in Education Award Education Community (EduCom) Awards in August. This awards ceremony was part of the 2022 edition of the Global Super Teacher Conference (GSTC). A conference where educators gather to brainstorm, strategize and find solutions to issues in the educational sector. The conference is also a Teacher and School Leadership empowerment and professional development experience.

To solve the issue of a young and growing population having challenges getting answers to their educational questions on the African continent. This has been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and a trend of high student-teacher ratios (35:1 across Sub-saharan Africa), we presented Kwame AI as our solution. Kwame, our MVP, is an AI teaching assistant that enables schools and EdTech companies to offer AI-powered scalable educational questions and answers to their students. And though we are in beta mode, our offering stood out in the category and won.

Not only are we providing solutions to this educational challenge, in our sub-region but in the process helping with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are addressing SDG Goal 4: Quality Education as Kwame AI is powering various platforms (ours and those of other EdTech companies) and enabling young people across Africa to have access to quality science and technology education, even without access to computers or reliable internet.

Thanks, EduCom for this recognition and award!!
